Pitch-requirements
Camera View: Isometric. Sims.
Characters: 4 Humans. A singer, guitar player, bass player and a drummer. All dressed up in 80's rock and metal garb with the mandatory long hair.
Environment: Urban. A large city like Las Vegas. Except there is no spoken language. Everything in the world is music. All the signs and clues are in musical notation. As you learn more music the signs and clues become English where earlier they were just musical notation.
Core Game Mechanic: The core game mechanic will be that of guitar hero in that the players will have to hit the notes that are prompted on the screen. The only change I am proposing is that instead of colored notes that show up on the screen the notes will show like they do on a real music notation. Of course there will still be clues regarding which button needs to be pressed for the corresponding note. The biggest difference will be that each of the characters will have a radically different button sequences and hence abilities.
AI: Dumb enemies that just chase you on the street.
Street musicians that throw random but musically relavant notes your way.
Trained musicians that send musical notes towards the band but alter the tempo depending on the level of difficulty and the skill level of the human players
Physics: Players have to produce the perfect pitch required to break down certain walls and windows.
Audio: Street music that sounds broken or has only fragments of entire songs.
Cover bands that play the song imperfectly.
Music teachers that only send out scales or training songs.
Virtuoso musicians that challenge any one instrument with tough music
Networking: Up to 4 players can play as a band over the network. The missing characters music will always be played perfectly by the AI band members.
